The elaborate preparation in terms of the number of popular gospel artistes, the dignitaries, the decoration, food and drinks suggest that it was an event that took weeks to plan. The Soteria Prayer and Worship meeting was a practical obedience to the Biblical injunction: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

Guests streamed into the venue and by the time the occasion swung into motion, the atmosphere transformed.  Call it the gathering of “Saints” and you will be perfectly correct. The bubbling ambience of the fully packed venue exuded a perfect setting for a spiritually explosive event.
Frank Edwards

It was a medley of praise, worship, sermon and mind-blowing testimonies. On hand to thrill the audience and lift the spirit of worshipers with electrifying praise and worship songs were renowned gospel artists, Joe Praize, Frank Edwards, Mrs. Osinachi Nwachukwu and the Hallelujah Choir. Together, they put up a soul lifting breathtaking performance.

The ovation that greeted the introduction of these musicians was infectious and when they mounted the podium, worshippers were wowed, as the musicians enlivened the atmosphere with sounds of heaven.

The venue all through was alive in reverberating shout of joy. The atmosphere was like a sweet dream in which the dreamer loath to wake and this was made sweeter by the dancing and joyous noise that filled the hall. It was intoxicating as worshippers were drunk with the Holy Spirit and wished that the party never ended. The presence of the Holy Spirit was palpable.

In his welcome address, Dumo Lulu-Briggs said “The Soteria Prayer & Worship Breakfast, is a Christian project offering complete dependence on our Great and Mighty Jehovah. We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is calling us as a family to come and be with Him in keeping with His purpose, as we use this medium to talk openly about salvation, the grace of God and His love for all. Biblical faith is needed at this time when there is the urgent need to understand God’s sovereignty and love”.

The teachings of Pastor David Osuma and Rev Ezekiel Jatau were rejuvenating. The testimonies of Joi Nunieh, Francesca Sambo and Aseme Obunge were ‘beyond belief’, things only God can do. The audience was a medley of Chiefs, businessmen, friends, leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress. At the end there was so much to eat and drink; exchange of pleasantries and lots of embrace. It was an event that would linger in the memory for quite a while.
